Top 10 Teen Movies of the 2010s

Teen movies has a sudden impact in our life. Sometimes, these movies remind ous of school days or the days when we were young, full of hopes and a lot of dreams in our hearts. These movies fill us with hope, love towards our dear ones and remind us of what we are and what we were at some point of time.

 But, in this article I will be talking about the top ten teen movies from the last decade or the 2010s. So, without wasting any more time buckle your seatbelt because the journey is about to begin:

10. The Edge of Seventeen:



The Edge of Seventeen was released in the year 2016. The film focuses on how it is difficult sometimes to grow old and all the problems faces by every individual in the high school. Things change a turn when her brother starts dating her best friend and she feels that she is quite alone.

Cast: Hailee Stanfied, Haley Lu Richardson, Blake Jenner, Woody Harrelson.

Director: Kelly Fremon Craig.

9. Dope:


Dope is a crime/comedy released in the year 2015. The film focuses on a group of friends who attend an underground party hosted by a drug dealer. Suddenly, things take a turn when they pick up a backpack of drugs and are chased by a drug lord.

Cast: Shameik Moore, Kiersey Clemons, Zoe Kravitz, ASAP Rocky.

Director: Rick Famuyiwa.

Famous Quote: "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Malcolm Arakanbe. I'm a straight-A student with nearly perfect SAT scores. I play in a punk band with my friends and I'm a 90s hip hop geek. 8. Love, Simon:



Love, Simon is a teen LGBTQ/romance film released in the year 2018. The main theme of this movie is about a guy who keeps his sexual orientation a secret from everyone including his parents. But, things got worse when someone tries to blackmail him.

Cast: Nick Robinson, Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp, Jennifer Garner.

Director: Greg Berlanti.

7. To all the Boys I've Loved Before:


To all the boys I've loved before is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Jenny Han. The movie was released in the year 2018. The movie mainly focuses on a girl who writes these secret letters which she put in her closet. But, things take a turn when her letters got leaked.

Cast: Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Anna Cathcart, Janel Parrish.

Director: Susan Johnson.

Famous Quote: "But really, I guess it was mainly about how sometimes, I imagined what it would have been like if I'd realized how I felt about him sooner."

6. Me and Earl and the  Dying Girl:


Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is based on Jesse Andrews 2012 debut novel of the same name. The movie was released in 2015. This movie focuses on a guy who is forced by his mother to spend time with a girl who is suffering from Leukemia. This movie focuses on the friendship of the three guys.

Cast: Olivia Cooke, Thomas Mann, RJ Cyler, Nick Offerman.

Director: Alfonso Gomez-Rejon.

Famous Quote: "So if this was a touching romantic story this is probably where a new feeling would wash over me and suddenly we would be furiously making out with the fire of a thousand suns. But this isn't a touching romantic story."

5. The Fault in Our Stars:

The Fault in Our Stars is based on John Green beloved novel of the same name. This movie was released in 2014. The movie revolves around Augustus and Hazel who meets at a support group and how Augustus helps her in completing her wish to meet the author of her favorite novel.

Cast: Ansel Elgort, Shailene Woodley, Nat Wolff, Laura Dern.

Director: Josh Boone.

4. Booksmart:


Booksmart is a teen/comedy film released in 2019. The movie focuses on two girls who realized that they have missed out some special moments in their teenage years. So, they decide to compensate their lost time by doing everything in one single night.

Cast: Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Diana Silvers, Molly Gordon.

Director: Olivia Wilde.

Famous Quote: "You can make yourself cum using only your mind? That's like the one thing my mind can't do."

3. Lady Bird:


Lady Bird is a Comedy/drama movie released in 2017. The movie focuses around a girl who faces very ups and downs in her life and relationships in the senior year of her high school.

Cast: Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Beanie Feldstein, Lucaa Hedges.

Director: Greta Gerwig.

2. Easy A:


Easy A is a teen comedy film which was released in 2010. The movie revolves around a girl named Olive who lies about losing her virginity to her best friend. But things take a dramatic turn when this rumors spread like wildfire in the school.

Cast: Emma Stone, Amanda Bynes, Alyson Michalka, Stanley Tucci.

Director: Will Gluck.

1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower:



The perks of being a Wallflower is based on the 1999 novel of Stephen Chbosky by the same name. This movie was released in 2012. This movie focuses on a guy named Charlie who is kind of depressed and is quite nervous. The story takes a turn when he become friends with his seniors who helps him in coming out of depression.

Cast: Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Paul Rudd.

Director: Stephen Chbosky.

Famous Quote: "I can see it. This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive. And you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder.
